Why does it take that long?

Zirconium can be a tricky material to work with. Due to its high thermal expansion and contraction rates, each piece must be slowly hand-polished and torch-burned with extreme care to maintain tight tolerances. It’s a time-consuming process, but it ensures that every Black Pearl Anchor meets the high standards it deserves.

When the idea came up to bring wearable art onto titanium knife scales – something small enough to fit in your pocket – the artist was instantly inspired. Using a gas torch and his unique skill, he painted his very first piece directly on titanium: golden beaches and gentle summer waves, a heartfelt tribute to his seaside hometown. Each Golden Beach & Summer Waves set is individually crafted by hand – no two are exactly alike. Because of the time and care involved, availability is very limited, and small batches are released occasionally by Piratech.
