Brass (standard)
Noticeably heavier in hand, with a finely machined surface. Brass develops its own individual patina over time — that's not a flaw, that's the material doing what it's supposed to.
Brass, hand-burnished in our workshop
This variant is burnished by hand at the Altonaer Silberwerkstatt in Hamburg. Burnishing is a chemical surface process: a dark conversion layer forms directly on the brass — no lacquer, no coating, but a change to the material itself. At points of contact, the burnishing gradually wears away through friction, revealing the golden brass underneath. The result is a surface that becomes a little more yours with every use. Every piece is unique.
