Erst nach kleiner Veränderung wirklich gut.
Ich bin seit etwa einem Jahr ein Freund von kleinen Fixed als EDC, weil sie sich leichter reinigen lassen als Folder und zusätzlich noch 42a konform sind. Über die ASW bin ich auf das GMF-1 gestoßen.
Auch wenn die mich die klassisch bauchige Form von Voxnaes Messern nicht unbedingt anmacht, fand ich das GMF-1 irgendwie cool. Zudem hat mich gefreut, dass es neben der Leder-Scheide optional noch diese Kydex gibt. So lässt sich das Messer auch einfach via Ulticlip im Hosenbund befestigen.
Als Messer und Scheide kamen, war ich zunächst beeindruckt. Optisch cool und gut verarbeitet. Außerdem schön klein, passt also als EDC perfekt in die Hose(-ntasche).
Mit der Kydex war ich jedoch nicht gleich zufrieden. Das Hauptproblem: Das Messer saß extrem stramm drin.
Ich weiß, jetzt werden viele sagen: "Das ist Anfangs normal und gibt sich mit der Zeit etwas", aber es war wirklich sooo stramm, dass man mit zwei Händen und viel Kraft ziehen musste, um es überhaupt raus zu bekommen. Ich hatte mehrfach Sorge mich zu verletzen, als ich das Messer aus der Scheide zog.
Das Problem hätte man leicht durch eine serienmäßig angebrachte Daumenrampe beheben können. Dann kann man bequem mit einer Hand (oder einem Daumen!) das Messer aus der Scheide drücken und läuft nicht Gefahr durch eine ruckartige "Auseinander-Reiß-Bewegung" sich selbst oder andere zu verletzen.
Mir ist auch nicht klar, wie man das Messer (wenn man es mit der mitgelieferten Gürtel-Schlaufe nutzt) einhändig und sicher aus der Scheide ziehen soll. Selbst mit dem von mir verwendeten Ulticlip keine Chance.
Ich hab mir dann einen Heißluftföhn genommen und auf eigene Faust eine Daumenrampe angeformt. War 10 Minuten Arbeit, jetzt ist es gut. Aber bei einem Messer bzw. einer Kydex von Voxnaes & Ansø erwarte ich eigentlich, dass auf ein solches Detail geachtet wird und es serienmäßig dazu gehört.
Fazit: Kydex an sich gut verarbeitet, jedoch fehlte mir die Daumenrampe zum sicheren bedienen.

Flach, schmal , sehr passgenau
Eine Klasse Kydex. Das Messer trägt sich hervorragend. Am Gürtel wie auch als Neck Knife um den Hals. Das Messer sich perfekt uns läßt sich dennoch gut aus der Scheide ziehen. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

Perfekte kleine Kydexscheide für das GMF1 von Giant Mouse, ich hab den Gürtel Adapter weggenommen, so nimmt es in der Hosentasche kaum mehr Platz weg und ist sehr angenehm zu Tragen.
