Cutlery Case for Soup Ladle with Tarnish Protection

A silver soup ladle isn't an everyday item – it comes out for special occasions and spends the rest of the time in the cupboard. That's exactly when silver tarnishes. This cutlery case keeps your soup ladle tarnish-protected and ready to use, without having to polish it every time you take it out.

The case is double-layered: tarnish-resistant felt on the inside, cotton on the outside. The cotton outer layer reduces oxygen exposure – the main cause of silver tarnishing. It fits soup ladles and punch ladles up to 40 cm in total length.

Why a Cutlery Case?

Silver tarnishes when sulphur compounds from the air come into contact with the surface. A regular drawer or box does little to prevent this. The case wraps the soup ladle in tarnish-resistant fabric – slowing the process considerably. If you only use your ladle on special occasions, that makes a real difference.

Since Albec stopped production, this case has been made exclusively for us by a German manufacturer. The quality and construction have stayed the same.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my soup ladle fit?
The case fits soup ladles and punch ladles up to 40 cm in total length. Please measure your ladle before ordering.
How long does the tarnish protection last?
It depends on storage conditions – in our experience, silver stored in a well-closed case stays bright for many years. The double-layered construction ensures as little oxygen as possible reaches the silver.
What's the difference to a single-layer case?
Single-layer cases are often a bit cheaper – but they offer less protection. The cotton outer layer of this double-layered case adds an extra barrier against oxygen. If you want your ladle to stay bright as long as possible, the double-layer version is the better choice.
Can I wash the case?
We'd advise against it. Washing can affect the tarnish-resistant properties of the felt.

Cutlery Roll for 8 Serving Pieces with Tarnish Protection
Serving pieces are usually the largest items in a silver cutlery set – and often the ones that sit unused in the cupboard the longest. That's exactly why they need extra protection against tarnishing. This cutlery roll is specifically designed for 8 serving pieces and keeps your silverware clean and ready to use. The roll is double-layered: tarnish-resistant felt on the inside, cotton on the outside. The cotton outer layer further reduces oxygen exposure – the main cause of silver tarnishing. The wide pockets provide enough space even for large serving spoons, serving forks, soup ladles, sauce ladles, and carving knives. Note: For soup ladles, we recommend our cutlery case for soup ladles – it is specifically designed for the length and shape of a ladle. Silver tarnishes when sulphur compounds from the air come into contact with the surface. A regular drawer or box does little to prevent this. A cutlery roll wraps each piece individually in tarnish-resistant fabric – slowing the process considerably. Serving pieces that only come out on special occasions benefit from this most of all. How to Use It Unfold the roll and lay it flat on a table. Place each serving piece into its pocket – handles facing the closing end. Then roll it up firmly from the cutlery end and tie it with the attached ribbons. Rolled up, it takes up very little space and stores neatly in a cupboard.
