Lightweight all-rounder
Trayvax have done it: after a successful Kickstarter campaign Trayvax produce their first fixed blade in series. What's special: this knife is created entirely using state-of-the-art CNC milling technology.
As one of the most important manufacturers of modern cardholder wallets and other EDC items, it's no surprise that Trayvax now have a knife in their lineup with the Trek Field Knife. The idea behind this compact fixed is to offer a knife for everyday use and almost all situations. The choice therefore fell on a slim and extremely lightweight all-steel design.
The entire knife is milled from a solid piece of CPM S35VN steel. Thanks to the skeletonization of the handle, the Trek Field Knife is quite a bit lighter than one would initially expect. The end of the handle, by the way, was designed to create a sort of striking point that is meant to be used as a glass breaker in emergency situations. The ratio of the handle to the blade was chosen so that the knife is as balanced as possible in the hand. Another special feature of the Trek Field Knife is the blade grind: strictly speaking, you can't even speak of a grind here, as the entire blade was also milled, which you can see in the fine grooves. These provide for a unique look of the Trek Field Knife. Towards the tip, there is a small belly on the cutting edge, so that the knife almost gets like a slight tanto shape.
The Trek Field Knife comes of course with a custom made leather sheath (of course in the usual Trayvax leather quality), which you can wear either vertically or horizontally. So that you don't lose your Trek Field Knife, the knife is secured with a small loop and a push button.

Geniales erstes Messerdesign von Trayvax!
Bin sehr beeindruckt von dem Field Trek Knife. Es ist das erste Design von Trayvax und die haben im ersten Anlauf super viel richtig gemacht! Mir persönlich liegt es aber auch einfach richtig gut in der Hand. Größe und Klingenlänge sind sehr gut. Da hab man sonst bei einem Fixed wesentlich schwerere Kaliber bei gleicher Länge. Auch ohne Griff oder Paracord Wicklung greift es sich sehr stabil. Die klassische runde Tanto Klingenform bietet eine klasse Spitze und lässt sich hervorragend für alle Arbeiten nutzen. (Was beim kantigen American Tanto nicht unbedingt immer der Fall ist). Abzüge gibt es eigentlich nur beim Finish. Vor allem der Griff könnte etwas besser poliert sein. Die Lederscheide ist innovativ aber Geschmackssache.
